Qualifying Requirements
CatholicTalent.com is open to all believing and practicing Catholic amateur and professional vocalists, instrumentalists, composers, authors and songwriters, regardless of nationality or origin.
If you are submitting an application, you must not be contractually bound to another publisher in any capacity.
If you are submitting a performance application as a vocalist or instrumentalist, you must warrant that the audio track you submit is an un-doctored and true performance of your gift. An audio track is required; a video track is also encouraged.
If you are submitting an original work for consideration, you must enter a song YOU wrote or co-wrote; you may not enter a song for someone else.
You must be 18 or older, and have a valid e-mail address.
By submitting an entry form to CatholicTalent.com, you are agreeing to be bound by the CatholicTalent.com rules established on this page.
Submission Categories
You MUST assign a category to your application, from the following options:
1. Vocalist
2. Instrumentalist
3. Singer/Player Combined
4. Composer (of Sacred Music)
5. Author (of texts/lyrics)
6. Songwriter (of CCM/Praise & Worship)
If a performance (not writing) application, you MUST indicate your first preference for recording group involvement:
1. Caritas
2. Metanoia
3. Sacred Song TV
Language
Original works and sample recordings may be written or performed in a language other than English, but the lyric sheet and/or music must be translated into English.
Number of Applications
You may make application only once in each of the Submission Categories, as noted above.
All applications must be made online through CatholicTalent.com.
Copyright
Applicant holds the copyright of any original work submitted, and it must be so noted. Applicant understands that if ILP Music offers a publishing contract for original works submitted, that applicant will assign copyright to ILP Music as publisher of said work according to the standard publishing terms of the ILP contract.
Applicant warrants that any original work submitted for consideration is, in fact, the original creative work of Applicant and does not infringe upon any copyrights or any other rights of any third parties. If an original work has co-writers, Applicant warrants that he/she has secured the complete consent of said co-writers to the submission of said work to CatholicTalent.com and further supports the possibility of a publishing contract with ILP Music. Applicant, by submitting work and/or talent for consideration by CatholicTalent.com, herewith indemnifies and holds CatholicTalent.com and ILP harmless from and against any claims inconsistent with the foregoing.
Judging
Entries will be screened and finalists will be selected by the CatholicTalent.com advisory team and the ILP Music staff. Contracts will then be awarded by the Publisher of ILP Music.
Performance submissions will be judged on: quality and dexterity of talent, ability to present, ability to engage, and sincere conviction of presentation.
Writing submissions will be judged on: theological content, creativity, unique character, and impact factor of work, as well as ability of work to engage heart, mind and soul of listener.
Announcement of Talent Selected
Candidates selected will be notified directly by email and phone. Within 10 days of individual contact, those awarded contracts will be posted on the CatholicTalent.com site.
